98 Real Estate Group Hosts April 2013 Event in Mexico Beach

The 98 Real Estate Group Ling Ding Fishing Tournament is back in Mexico Beach! This year the tournament will be held every weekend in April, starting with a kickoff party April 5 at Regan’s Pub and Oyster Bar in Port St. Joe and culminating in a finale and awards party on April 27 at Mexico Beach Marina.

Three species of fish are on the line for cash prizes totaling $5,500, including Spanish mackerel, amberjack and ling, or cobia, the spring immigrant for which the tournament was named.

“We are excited that the Ling Ding Fishing Tournament continues to grow each year,” said Kimberly Shoaf, president of the Mexico Beach Community Development Council. “This year’s event will be bigger than ever. It brings such a dynamic group of fishermen together here on the Unforgettable Coast.”

Competitors may launch from Indian Pass to Mexico Beach every weekend in April, so get those boats in the water to win a little cash and earn some bragging rights!

Tournament Director Zach Childs, a broker for 98 Real Estate Group, said he believes this year will be the best yet for the Ling Ding Tournament. “We have over thirty boats pre-registered and more coming in daily,” he said. “We are very excited to bring this event back to Mexico Beach and we’re hopeful for a great turnout.”
