Welcome Center

When visiting Mexico Beach, we encourage you to drop by the Mexico Beach Welcome Center. Operated by the Mexico Beach Community Development Council, our Welcome Center offers visitors a resource for current information about our wonderful beach community. We’re here to help answer your questions about Mexico Beach and make your visit more enjoyable!

At the Mexico Beach Welcome Center you can:

  • Get information on area attractions and area happenings.
  • Learn about current and upcoming activities, festivals, and events.

Located at 102 Canal Parkway, at the southwest corner of Highway 98 and Canal Parkway, the Mexico Beach Welcome Center is open 8:00 am till 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

To help you plan your next visit, here are answers to some of the more frequently asked questions about Mexico Beach.


Q.  How large is the City of Mexico Beach, Florida?

A.  Mexico Beach, a seaside community of about one thousand residents, encompasses five miles of pristine beaches, has no traffic lights and features only family owned restaurants. It’s the perfect place for you to enjoy the white-sand beaches and emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico in quiet seclusion.


Q.    Does Mexico Beach have public boat ramps?

A.  Yes! Our public boat ramp offers easy and direct access to the Gulf of Mexico.


Q.    I don’t have a boat. Can I still enjoying the great fishing in Mexico Beach?

A.  Yes! There are fishing charters available allowing access to species such as Spanish mackerel and kingfish. Great surf fishing for species such as pompano can also be experienced right from our beaches. Visit our Fishing page for more information or contact the Mexico Beach Marina.


Q.    Are dogs allowed on the beach?

A.  Dogs are not permitted on the beach within the city limits of Mexico Beach. Dogs are allowed on St. Joe Beach in Gulf County east of the county line at Highway 386.


Q.    Are there any scuba diving opportunities in Mexico Beach?

A.  Yes! Mexico Beach offers easy access to artificial reefs and the historic shipwreck of the Vamar. Divers, snorkelers, and spear fishermen will find much to do here!
